Adding a Voice to Family Violence |
In 2003, when Pronesia kicked off the STAGE of Origin, one aim was to advocate for positive change in the community. With today’s high rate of domestic violence we encourage you to join us, as we echo our concerns of the impacts domestic violence has on our family, friends & community. It is our problem to address , let’s add a voice. For more info visit: www.areyouok.org.nz

SENZAAZIONAL!!!! |

The only way to describe the UNION vs LEAGUE Challenge. Congratulations to the Rugby LEAGUE team, represented by Awen, Monty, Manu, Rene and their player/coach Tofiga Fepulea’i, who scrapped through with a last minute performance, tipping the scales, to ruin the evening and 3peat for the strong, well drilled union contingent.
Unflawed back flips by super worm man, (All Black Lelia Masaga) set the night for a battle of wit and talent, as each team took on 8 challenges to determine who would hold the reigns for the STAGE of ORIGIN champs. Union brought a strong member Onasai Auvaa to the stage, who led and commanded with ‘wiggle’ grace, poise and determination.
The league boys may have shied away at times, but choose their moments well, to inject well thought out actions as they used their own bodies as personal gym equipment for judge Te Awanui Reeder of Nesian Mystics to work out.
A polished routine by both teams during the JAM Ball challenge, where the teams got to jam, while the audience had a ball, watching them jam. A spectacle of a show.
Well done to the community groups who participated in the community fundraising event, with all those involved strongly opposing the use of the drug P – the drug known to pick you up to reach the bottom.

RIDING the Recession with Style |
Archives: 14/5/09 When St John Ambulance are forced to close a few branches due to reduction in funds, then its only right that we should accept the current status to. Our long awaited Trans-Tasman challenge has fallen victim to the recession, but we will attempt to bring you this event in November.
All is not lost, without the usual financial support thru sponsors, grants, television coverage, and large promo's - we will take the bumpy road and provide our needing fan's and community groups with the same fundraising opportunity and most of all, funny show - less the bell's & whistles, to save costs.

-Auckland Review: Underlining Tactics give Union the win: - League cheated a Victory |
 | |
Archives:8 May 2008 League fan’s received a taste of how the Union fan’s felt, when their beloved All Blacks where cheated by referee Wayne Barnes during the World Cup quarter finals last year.
MC Henry Tuipea, who has been dubbed the “Wayne Barnes” of Theatre Sports, stated his decision to call the last challenge a draw, giving 5000 points per team, instead of giving the points to the obvious winners, the league team, came about when he succumbed to the pressure of union’s captain, and colleague Eroni Clarke & Nainz Tuipea, who implied that letting the crowd decide the winner, would mean their fate – as the crowd were predominately league supporters. The 5000 points left Union ahead, taking the overall challenge.
Other calls that worked against the league team, St Peter’s College Samoan group leader – showed his loyalty to union despite the great performance the league boys put together. Asked to allocate the points to the best team, he admittedly said he was a 1 eyed union fan, playing for their 1st XV, and having Jerry Collins bribe him with a signature at the end of the night, enforced his decision to grant the union boys the points.
Shauvaughn Ruakere – thought she would walk off stage without giving the league boys points, also worked against them.
Young innocent Irish Dancer Emma, who was asked to judge the Irish performances also succumbed to the pressure of Nainz of Adeaze-(the Union Support guy) who – in a way that the Big Bad wolf would speak to Little Red Riding hood – told her to “listen to her heart” and she fearfully allocated the Union boys the points. Once again – this tactic robbed the League boys from a challenge they clearly won.
We are in the position to make comedy “serious” and we can take new measures to avoid this re-occurring – Union applied pressure at the right time – when it counted – and the almost perfect performance could not counter the Union tactics to pressure the judges.
Entertainment won at the end of the day – with the message never being overshadowed – to support your friends, family & community groups.
